About MetaLib
MetaLib is a federated search system developed by Ex Libris Group. The resources are often subscription based, and MetaLib provides access for legitimate users. MetaLib provides a single integrated environment for managing electronic resources such as abstracting and indexing databases, full-text e-journal services, CD-ROMs, library catalogues, information gateways, or local collections. It is an extension to the Ex Libris SFX software that provides the ability to simultaneously search across multiple databases. This cross-searching functionality allows users to search databases through a single interface. MetaLib also includes SFX, a context-sensitive linkage software, adding an additional range of options to provide direct links to related full-text and other electronic services.
